Digital AFROBEAT Workshop[feat. Najib Morllah AKA @offixciall]
Learn the basics of Afrobeat in our Digital Workshop with Najib
The Afrobeat dancer and Friend of NAIA*, Najib Morllah describes his early years as tough, but he turned it around through sports and dance. In his late teens and early 20’s he played football on a professional level, for clubs such AFC Eskilstuna and Brommapojkarna. But, today his focus is on Afrobeat.
Najib has been dancing for as long as he can remember. Through his great interest in African culture he found Azonto, a contemporary dance style that evolved from traditional Ghanaian folk dance, and afrobeats, an umbrella term for all contemporary West-African dance styles. Now, he’s traveling around the country to teach dancing and to spread the Afrobeat gospel. Najibs goal is to turn Afrobeat into the world’s biggest dance movement — a goal he aims to succeed with within ten years.
In the initiative Digital Afrobeat Workshop Najib will, in collaboration with The NAIA* Initiative, share his knowledge and passion for Afrobeat. Throughout three episodes he will teach us how to become Afrobeat dancers, from levels basic to advanced. Join us – find the full episodes below!
